CIEL, Center for Research and Language Teaching  

We are a private educational center in Spain that provides a unique approach to teach children with problems in language acquisition and comprehension. Our program, based in the cities of Barcelona and Oviedo, has its fundamentals in the scientific application of applied behavior analysis (ABA). We have a proven record of promoting positive changes in behavior. Our curriculum focuses on verbal behavior (VB) to teach children vocal and functional communication. Meet part of our team:


Our director is Dr. Gladys Williams, a specialist in curriculum design and verbal behavior with a doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Columbia University. Recognized internationally, Dr. Williams has received many awards for her contribution to the field of special education and created effective programs for children with autism and learning disabilities in the US, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil. She is currently on the board of several behavior analysis journals and is an active member of the Association of Behavior Analysis International.



Our Supervision Coordinator, Dr. Richard E Laitinen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, with a doctoral degree from the University of California in Santa Barbara, and post doctoral studies from the University of Washington, in Seatle.  Dr. Laitinen is a curriculum and instructional delivery expert, he is also the Clinical and Development Director at Educational and Developmental Therapies in California. Dr. Laitinen is an active member of the Association of Behavior Analysis International.
